This Saturday is the International Day of Climate Action which is exploding with many thousands of actions being held. It is being coordinated by 350.org and is another major event in our Tck Tck Tck global climate change action campaign.
So what will you be doing on 24 October?
We would love to hear what you plan to do and if you have not already organised to be involved one of the many events check out the details below for more information on what is happening in your country.
To date over 170 countries have events with more than 4,227 actions and still counting.
It is shaping up to be a massive global action event. Â We want millions of people to get involved as a demonstration to leaders that we expect them to take strong and immediate action on climate change.

Highlights from the day include:
- Major rallies at iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal, Machu Picchu, the Pyramids and the Great Barrier Reef;
- Nearly 300 events planned across China, from the Great Wall to wind farms in Inner Mongolia to glaciers high in the Himalayas, and hundreds more planned across Asia from the Taj Mahal to Mt. Everest.
- Over 100 events across the Middle East, including events in Afghanistan, Iraq, and simultaneous rallies on the Israeli, Jordanian, and Palestinian shores of the Dead Sea to form a 3,5, and 0, together spelling out 350.
- Hundreds of events across Africa, including a hip-hop concert in Benin, bungee-jumpers diving off an abandoned power station in Johannesburg, and hundreds of Masaii children doing a climate dance in Kenya.
- Actions in Latin America, from the Tierra del Fuego to the Calakmul Pyramids in Mexico, and hundreds more in between.
- And thousands more creative rallies across Europe, North America, Australia and the Pacific, and even the polar regions!

Yes, this Saturday won’t really be different from others, except maybe for my blog post on climate change. I am pessimist about the future. It will be really hard to bring the CO2 concentration down to 350 ppm.
